Blake Lively Interview – Café Society – “I’m still amazed that I actually played in a Woody Allen film”
Blake Lively has long been a great admirer of Woody Allen and like most actors has long dreamed of working with the legendary American filmmaker. In CAFÉ SOCIETY, Allen’s new comedy set in 1930s Hollywood, Lively plays Veronica, a glamorous divorcée who charms Jessie Eisenberg’s Bobby, a naive New Yorker who arrives in Hollywood hoping to get a foothold in the film business with the help of his uncle Phil (Steve Carrell). Complications ensue when Bobby falls for Vonnie, Phil’s tantalising assistant, who is already in a relationship.
Premiering in Cannes, the film has already earned the statuesque Lively rave reviews for her performance who was thrilled to have had the chance to be part of Allen’s unique cinematic universe.
Q: Are you getting anxious about your approaching due date?
LIVELY: It’s easier having a second child. You know what to expect and your body also adapts faster. Right now I can’t wait to finish doing interviews because it’s getting tougher and tougher to fit into my dresses! (Laughs)
