Chris Pratt Interview – The Magnificent Seven – “I gave this impression of being the happy fat guy when underneath I was very depressed and unhappy”
Chris Pratt is a very happy guy. He knows what it’s like to be broke, unemployed, and couch-surfing at friends’ houses while struggling to find work in Hollywood. Perhaps that’s what made him eternally grateful for all the success he’s enjoying today. Greeting you with a polite handshake and smile, Pratt gives the impression that he loves every minute of his life. And why not?
Q: You battled with your weight for many years. Now you’re known as one of the sexiest men alive. You must derive a certain amount of satisfaction from having undergone that kind of personal and professional transformation?
PRATT: It was very important to lose that weight and get fit. I was eating very badly and it was having a very bad effect on my overall health. I gave this impression of being the happy fat guy when underneath I was very depressed and unhappy about my appearance. I had no energy and sometimes I felt helpless about my situation.
