Colin Farrell Interview – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – “I would love to just be in big movies”

At 40 years old, Colin Farrell has transformed himself from former Hollywood bad boy, to starring in an enormous family franchise. Portraying Percival Graves, a powerful Director of Magical Security, in J. K. Rowling’s much-anticipated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the film is set in a secret wizarding world in 1920’s New York, more than half a century before Harry Potter was born.

Q: You’ve acted in blockbusters and humble independents. Does that play into your decision making at all or is it just about the role and the characters? Or is there pressure to just be in big movies?

Colin: I would love to just be in big movies, yeah, oh fuck yeah! I am okay with big movies, I am okay with it all really. The money is better on big films and sometimes more often than not, the intellectual or emotional challenge is great on smaller ones and that is not to judge the big ones, but that is the way it goes. But I go back and forth, and I have always done that.
