Eddie Redmayne Interview – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – “we are adults being paid a lot of money to dress up and pretend to be someone else”

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

PREVIEW

Eddie Redmayne has had his share of demanding roles of late.  First there was his Oscar-winning performance as physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything followed by his no less dramatic portrayal of Danish painter and transgender pioneer Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl.

THE INTERVIEW

Q:  After winning an Oscar and being nominated again for The Danish Girl, how do you feel about the whole awards show processs?

REDMAYNE:  I’ve been very fortunate but they make me feel guilty. As actors, lest we forget, we are adults being paid a lot of money to dress up and pretend to be someone else. We don’t cure diseases or solve the secrets of the universe or any other secrets for that matter.
