Meryl Streep Interview – Florence Foster Jenkins – “The men who run Hollywood and who work in our industry need to change their thinking”

PREVIEW

BERLIN –  Last year, Meryl Streep stunned audiences with her powerful singing in the role of an aging rock star in Rick and the Flash.  She had previously put her voice to the test – and in impressive fashion – in the Abba-inspired musical “Mamma Mia!” in 2008 and more recently in “Into the Woods.”

THE INTERVIEW

Q:  What needs to be changed in Hollywood?

STREEP:  The men who run Hollywood and who work in our industry need to change their thinking.  That would help a lot.  Women already know what needs to change and how more stories need to be written where female characters have greater prominence and importance.
