Michelle Williams: ‘Oz: The Great And The Powerful’

SAN DIEGO – Sweet, sensitive, and introspective, Michelle Williams casts a spell on anyone lucky enough to meet her. Her pixieish haircut, alabaster skin, and soft voice suggest an ethereal quality – perhaps that’s why director Sam Raimi cast her as Glinda, the Good Witch, in the upcoming “Oz: The Great and Powerful.” Williams was also glad to be making a movie that her 7-year-old daughter Matilda could enjoy while watching mommy work on a set filled with many fantasy-laden characters.

“My daughter loved me playing the Good Witch,” Williams gushes. “This was the perfect movie for her and she had so much fun coming to the set and getting to experience some of the magic that a child can find on a film set. This film is almost like a love letter to her and I’m so proud to be able to play a character that every little girl can love.”
