Rachel Bilson – New Interview: ‘Hart of Dixie’.

NEW YORK – Having first soared to fame as the vixenish Summer Roberts on The O.C., Rachel Bilson was once the toast of Hollywood. But since that iconic series went off the air in 2007, her career has drifted sideways of late. Though films like The Last Kiss (2006) and Jumper (2008) earned her plenty of critical acclaim, it took a while before she found the right project to get back on track. Now in its second season, HART OF DIXIE has given Bilson another shot at stardom. The series finds her playing Zoe Hart, an aspiring New York surgeon sent to work as a general practitioner in a small southern town in order to get her to develop a more sensitive bedside manner. Bilson loves her character, and even admits to be willing to suture her friends for free.

“I’ve watched surgeons operate and I have two Tennessee uncles who are doctors,” Bilson reveals.
