Taron Egerton Interview: “I keep getting asked, ‘why aren’t you a diva?” – ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’

Taron Egerton has a practical attitude to fame and celebrity. Hopefully it stays this way. “I keep getting asked, ‘why aren’t you a diva?’ Are people supposed to change that much [when they work on a movie]? Do they have to reinvent who they are? It’s just a job at the end of the day, a job that I adore and I’m very passionate about but it’s a job. And I do my job and then go hang out with my family like everyone else does.”

Since a likeably charming breakthrough as a rogue with an ASBO turned covert spy in Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, young Welshman Egerton has quietly crafted an impressive resume with crowd-pleasing performances in Eddie The Eagle, Testament of Youth, Sing and Legend. There’s his upcoming version of Robin Hood alongside Jamie Foxx and Jamie Dornan and he’s back again as Eggsy alongside a star-studded cast including Channing Tatum, Halle Berry and Elton John in Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
